What do I do about cold air is leaking from the freezer door?

Question:The maintenance man reversed the doors on my refrigerator and now cold air is leaking from the freezer door on the left side.

The maintenance man said the rubber will eventually re-adjust! Frankly, I don't believe it.

This site is also pretty helpful. I would just replace the gasket, too.

I wouldn't believe it either. If the gasket is mashed down because it was on the other side, I would replace the rubber seal around the freezer door. You are losing alot of energy.
Ask the manager if the complex will replace the food the leaking door ruins, and tell him what Maintence said. You need a new magnetic door gasket.george
reversing the doors creates a new seal with, a new seal only. go buy another rubber thingy, or just wait and find out that it aint gonna work out and pay higher electricity bills.
Sounds like the door was reversed incorrectly. If it sealed one way it should seal the other. I would try cleaning around the seal and around the freezer surface itself. If all else fails, a new freezer seal might need to be installed, since it is now closing in another direction.
The seal may be distorted by being in the opposite position for too long, but before replacing it - try to adjust the door by loosening the screws at the top hinge and then retightening after you get it into place.
It would probably be well to change the seal and be done
A refrigerator and freezer door gaskets use a magnetic strip to pull itself to the metal casing to create an air-tight seal. When you reverse the door swing the gasket needs to be "re-trained", however this is not always possible with older gaskets.

What you could do is try to heat the gasket with a hair dryer and flex the gasket gently pulling it from side to side and in and out. Shut the door while the seal is still warm.. Once the door is shut reheating again and leave the door shut overnight. You could also try to pull the seal off and drop it in a bath tub of hot water and rotate the gasket 180 degrees before reinstalling it, however if the gasket is not the "zip-lock" type this procedure can be a little difficult and frustrating.

Most of the time door swing reversal is done when the refrigerator new.
if the doors were not put in level and even, you will have this problem, tell the maintenance man, that doors don"t adjust themselves, also check you door seals to make sure that they are not brittle or old.
Try doing a little adjusting yourself. Prop a heavy chair against the door loosen the hinge screws and then tighten them back until the door is sealed.
Call someone to seal it and/or buy a new one.
HERE'S THE ANSWER:
1.) Uncle Johnny (above) is right and
