If you live in an apartment or small condominium, (roughly) how much are utilities per month?
Question:Please feel free to add area you reside in if you wish.
Answers:
I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment and am disabled so I get a discount. In Manteno, IL. My apartment is all electric.
Electric- $0.00
How much it would be without the discount- $29.42
Phone and Internet- $51.25
I do not have a dishwasher, clothes washer or drier.
The rest is covered by my rent. I live in section 8 housing so my rent is a lot lower then it would cost someone who is not disabled.
Rent- $124.00
I like to keep my condo nice and cool... electric and water together are around $100/month.
I have premium cable with HDTV, DVD, and Internet, and my cable bill is around $150/month.
I dont have a home phone, only cell phone.
I live in Jacksonville, FL, which has lower-then-average electric rates... but I use an above-average amount of electricity.
Most apartments pay for water/sewer and trash pickup. The temperature you keep your apt factor into the power bill. If you don't keep it too cool (in the summer) and too warm (in the winter). I would guess about $50 per month for a small apartment with no washer/dryer. Basic phone service runs about $40 w/tax. Basic cable runs about $50 w/tax. You can get bundle services w/ your local cable or phone company to save you money.
I live in a small house in Pasadena, CA.
Telephone $30
Gas $30
Electric and Water $100
It depends on the cost for utilities and taxes where you live, whether the landlord pays part, and how much you uses. Gas water heaters are much cheaper than electric.
As a prospective tenant, you can call each utility and find out what the average usage was the previous year. I used to do that all the time to get a better idea of my costs upfront, especially when buying a home in an area.
