What should I charge for drywalling a room?

Question:My sister asked me if I would drywall a room in her house for her and she wants me to name a price. I told her I would, but I have no idea how much to charge her for the job. All the materials (sheetrock, joint compound, screws, etc) will be provided by her. She just needs to know what I want for doing it. The room is approximately 14'x20'x9'. I have to tear down the old walls and ceiling, hang sheetrock on the walls and ceiling, and replace a light fixture in the ceiling. I have no idea how long a job like this will take and I don't want to ask too little or too much. So any ideas for what I should charge?

Answers:
going rate in WI USA is 19 cents/ sq ft. but the owner of the drywall co charges about 25 cents/sq ft. making money off the employies. lol
should equal out to be about $18/hr or more if your fast

That depends on how much you like your sister. :D

Seriously though, I think you should only charge for what income you'd miss out on (if you would be working to make money otherwise). In other words, if you aren't missing out on oportunities to make money then it should be free. That's what family does for each other.

Of course that's only the answer if you don't do this for a living. If you do, then I think you should give her a pretty good discount on the price like half price or so.
