mix boric acid (available at hardware stores and walmart) and a little sugar and dust the back of cabinets and behind appliances. It is really cheap and it works. Kills any roaches that eat it and dries them out.
Keep your house clean to discourage them from infesting. Don't keep garbage in the house. I used to live in an old trailer that had a problem with roaches I emptied my garbage everyday, kept my dishes washed and my stove clean as well as the countertops and floor and I tried to keep the bathroom as dry as possible. Don't hoard cardboard boxes, for some reason they love paper and the glue in carboard boxes.
Poison ; and be sure and check bags brought from the grocery store, espcially potatoes, they love to hide in potatoes. I empty mine into the sink before I do anything else and many times have found roaches in there.
I got something from Zep Mfg. (look in phone book) to spray around the baseboards and under sink that works pretty well also a very quick killer is Bam (yes the cleaner) I found that out by accident when it was handy, it stops them NOW>
