How do i refill old air conditioner unit? it is the thru wall one?

Question:

Answers:
Stand alone systems are hermitcaly sealed systems. This means there are no taps or hookups for you to add refrigerant.

In order to service this type of system a technician as to cut the copper line and solder in service ports. Vacuum the unit down and the recharge according to manufactures specs.

Not only is something the average homeowner doesn't have the tools to complete but, the technician must have an EPA 608 type I certification to repair this unit or purchase the refrigerant for refill.

Sorry but, you need to call out a service tech for this work to be completed.

Call a specialist... or consider replacing the unit.
Between the cost to repair and the inefficiency of an old unit I'd say discard this AC.it simply isn't worth it.

You'll save money almost immediately with long term benefits.
These days it is cheaper to buy a new one than get a certified HVAC Tech out to your house to cut taps in,re-claim the old refigerant and recharge it.
Buy a new one.
