Chewed up stairs?

Question:My puppy chewed the corners of the first 5 steps on my staircase. so now the edges are all rounded and chewed up!

if i get some of that wood putty stuff and recreate the corners of the stairs and restain them, will you be able to tell that they have been patched?

i read on the container of wood putty stuff that it is stainable, but is it really noticeable??

Answers:
I cannot believe this question. Just spent thursday and all day yesterday repairing about 15 steps that my son drug a dresser up and slashed right up the middle three big slashes, and yes, the putty is stainable but do sand after the putty dries over night, don't forget to top it off with clear epoxy.

puppy ?
replace the board. or, trim what's left to look good and stain the whole edge.
puppy?
That should work okay until he does it again. If you leave him alone in the house make sure you give him toys he can chew during the day. Also, puppies like different textures, such as pig ears, raw hides, squishy toys, squeeky toys, etc. I also would leave a paper bag for my pup to tear up instead of my walls, although, watch for any heat eliments that can catch on fire. Have you tried a leaving him in a home kennel? Puppies, aren't they wonderful?
puppy, they r puppies, dont do any thing till they grow up.
