Switch help.?
Question:Hi there,
I've managed to hook up an old on/off switch to a circuit board for an LED flasher, my problem is this though..the LED's will only flash if I hold the power button down, the second I release it the power is cut, is there any way around this? the PC switch has two wires coming from it, a black and white one (it does the same no matter how you wire it, although i've not tried hooking it up to the positive wire, just the negative...on the board that is)...can anyone help?

The switch you have may be a momentary type - the contacts only stay closed when the switch is held down. If this is so, replace it with single-pole/single-throw maintained switch. Any hardware or electronics store will have this.
try tapaing it down
sound like you don't have an on/off switch but you have a momentary on switch. was it the reset switch from an old computer? try a different switch or just try connecting the two wires from the circuit board in a pigtail, if the flasher works then you have the wrong switch. if it dosn't work, double check your wiring
You have a switch that is normally open,when you close it,then power is sent.You need a switch that is normally closed.And normally closed is a term in engineering,all counter people know this.
You have a momentary switch -- go with mech... answer-- you need a single pole/single throw switch
That is A 'start" button not a switch..a press and release start type operation..get a basic toggle switch , or sliding switch and replace.
