Help w/ my a/c?

Question:the power went out and then it came back on and now my a/c in my bedroom isn't working. *sad* i turn it on and it makes a sound but no air is coming through.

Answers:
could be there's a blown fuse, either in your house or in the unit itself

check other outlets.
You could have blown a fuse for that line.
Otherwise, you may have had a power surge and fried the condensor.
If the fan is not working, it is most likely a fuse in your home
ur condenser isn't working
switch on its button.....and wait sometime
if its not working thn theres a prob ..consult a maintainance person
if the unit itself comes on this means you do have power so rule out circuit/fuse ..sounds more like a contact burnt out ..need pro. to look at .stay cool
Probably some fuse broke when the power got back. you should call an electrician, he's gonna fix it in a couple of minutes and wont charge much.
Next time power goes off you must switch of your A/C cause when power gets back on while the A/C is still switched on, it produces thousands of volts in the switch and cause it to break and might even cause a fire!
Oh, and never switch on your A/C until you fix it, because the sound you hear is the sound of coolant gas flowing while the fan is not working, this would cause the gas to deep freeze the inner parts of the A/C and it might not work again!
Find the fuse or curcuit breaker box in your home and check to see that all of them are "on"
Are you sure ALL of your electricity is back on? It may be that it's trying to run on 110 V when it needs 240 V. Or, it could be that the voltage in the lines is low and isn't up to snuff yet. One more thing, it it's fed by a circuit breaker in a panel, turn that circuit breaker fully off (press HARD) and then back on.
If you've ruled out fuse/circuit breaker then you probably need a tech. If you are an advanced do-it-yourselfer then I'd check in the following order;
1. Test capacitor.
2. Test fan(s).
3. Test relay.
4. Test compressor.
Do NOT call an electrician. If you need a tech call a heating and air conditioning tech. (An electrician will charge you just to tell you to call a HVAC tech.)
Good Luck
