Can you discharge rainwater in to a soil stack?

Question:Is this acceptable in the UK for older properties, or must it be discharged seperately in to the sewer?

Answers:
I'm thinking the answer is no. Both my bathroom and kitchen had separate wastes, where were it legal they could have been run into the adjacent soil pipe.
