Where is the best place in scarborough, ont. to buy a new 40gal.hot water tank?

Question:got a leak in the old tank, want to see if buying is better than renting in the long run

Answers:
Visit Home Depot, Canadian Tire, or other hardware stores in the area. Installation is relatively straight forward for an electric heater, but you may need help if you are using natural gas.
Do some math to determine which way is better in the long run. If you rent forever, you will quickly pay in excess of the cost of the heater. On the other hand, you likely won't have to worry about installation.
I always prefer to own things rather than rent.

For the ease of solving the problem you can "rent" one from the utility company (hydro one, gas company etc). They will install it and repair it when it needs it. While its true that over the years the rent will total the cost of the purchase price. One tip I will give is that in about ten years call the company and tell them you no longer want to rent it. They will reply with Okay and just leave the unit as its not worth their time and trouble to come and take it out. then the rental fee stops.
