Question:It got some pine needle in it and now it barely works, how do I get pine needles out of it?? I removed pine needles where the hose connects but I am afraid to take the pump apart and short of mailing it back what can I do??
Answers:
You might have some pine needles stuck in the centrifugal blades. This is a very easy fix that requires undoing the bolts holding the motor to the pump head then sliding it back and removing the needle. This is a common occurrence that can easily be solved by the use of an old pair of pantyhose.. cut the toe section off about 6" up, stretch the top of the hose over the top of the pump filter basket, and let the rest hang into the basket. This will catch a LOT of debris as the hose carries a static electrical charge that will attract things like a magnet.
But to the actual problem, once you get the pump apart you will find it is a very easy thing that you have nothing to fear.
The pump is supposed to have a basket to catch the larger trash. Just clean it out. If the pump you bought doesnt have one and you live in an area with lots of pine needles, then I am sorry to say that you made a large error.
