Can I move my houseplants out of CA?
Question:I am moving from CA to IL. I have houseplants that I will not part with. Can I move them out of CA with no hassle from D of A?
Are there any movers, private driver that will take them with the rest of my load?
Answers:
I don't think you'll have a problem moving your plants from CA to IL - I think you would only have a problem moving them into CA. When my friend moved from CA to OR - she had no problems - so you shouldn't.
When my husband and I moved to a new state - our moving company took my bigger plants (couple small trees) luckily they were pretty hardy because it got really hot in the moving van and they were almost dead by the time they got here. I had taken the rest in my car and was so glad I did...
Good luck with your move!
Sure, Unless your house plants are cheeba plants I think you will be OK.
Movers won't take them. We recently moved from LA to Florida and I had to send the movers with my stuff and put whatever plants I could in my car when I drove out. You don't stop at the D of A like you do coming into the state. So you can take them out.
Good luck!
you can take them, no one will question you. and if at all possible, you sould take them in your car w/you since they could tip over in a moving truck, or worse, something could shift and then could break or be crushed.
I just moved out of Calif to central Oregon and I took mine in the motorhome and some in my van. I love my houseplants and was not stopped by the D of A. Don`t worry you will be fine!!! Good Luck to you!
