What are the little red bugs that crawl all over walls and window frames at this time of year?

Sounds like spider mites. Checking on-line shows that
"Spider mites are usually not killed by regular insecticides, so be sure to check the pesticide label to see if "miticide" is present. Pesticides claiming "for mite suppression" are usually weak miticides and will not perform well. There are few products available to the homeowner. Dicofol (=Kelthane) is registered for over-the-counter use but is difficult to find. Acephate (=Orthene), dimethoate (=Cygon), chlorpyrifos (=Dursban), diazinon, disulfoton (=Di-syston), and malathion have over-the-counter product labels but are considered weak miticides."
Could be spider mites. We call em council spiders. Squash em he he he
Blood spiders - don't know how to get rid of them. Be a good buddhist and chuck them outside.
They are chiggers & they can imbedd themselves under your skin.
If that happens apply fingernail polish on top of it & it will die from lack of air.
are they red with spots? and a hard shell? if so, their ladybugs
Red spider mites and you can spray them with any fly and insect killer which will soon put paid to them.
i've never seen them here in texas, but some of the others answers r pretty good
If they have a hard shell, they are lady bugs. Some have spots and others don't. Depends on which sex they are.
Get a bug book from the library,
that will help you to find out what it is,
will also help you to deal with it and to get rid of the problem knowing what you have in your house
