If you have a Home Goods nearby, they often have high-quality sheets and towels on sale. I bought Ralph Lauren x-tra large towels for $4 apiece and a king-size sheet set, 300 thread count with pillowcases, for $18. I don't know if that's cheaper than Wal-Mart, but it seemed like a good price to me.
