If leaves/branches from my neighbour's hedge/bushes grow into my garden??

Question:Can I cut them and throw them over to his side? Or do I have to dispose of them myself???

Answers:
You can cut them and throw them over to his side.

you can cut them legally if they infringe into your garden. you are responsible for the disposal of them though!
You are so intollerant. If it's bothering you that much (don't know why honestly) then speak to your neighbour about it.
You can cut the ones that are overhanging, and you can ask your neighbour to dispose of them, but he's under no obligation to - you are obliged to dispose of them yourself if he won't.
Is putting them in your trash so hard that you would rather make an enemy of your neighbor than throw them away. I'm glad I don't live next to you.
How about talking to your neighbour about this. You're entitled to cut them, but if taking them to the dump is a major hassle, you might ask him to look after it. Don't throw them over to his side.
Yeah, lop and throw as being his.
Yes for sure you can cut them, but it'll be more better if you'll ask them first, may be cutting them without any notice, can hurt their feelings, but to my opinion you can not throw them to their side, so better dispose by yourself and it'll not even cost you hunderd million dollors.
I believe, technically, if you cut them back and *you* dispose of them then it can be classed as theft. Which is why throwing them back is the right thing to do, but not always the neighbourly thing to do.
You have to give the cuttings back or it is theft. Cut by all means, that's your right if they are on your property.
Following a similar situation with a very uncooperative neighbour once, I sought advice from the council. They said I was perfectly within my rights to cut off tree branches that were hanging over in my garden as long as I threw them into the neighbours garden, otherwise, it would be stealing.
How well do you get on with your neighbour?

Is it worth spoiling your relations with them, or making it worse for the sake of disposing of a few branches?

Yes of course you can cut the branches on your side, but then dispose of it yourself. or your liable to start a feud.

If its great big branches, talk to them about it and you can do something together. Otherwise, just bunging it over the fence is liable to cause more ill-will than it will be worth.
You can cut them and they are your neighbours property.

The best course of action is to put the cuttings in your recycling bin. That way you get a neat hedge and don't fall out with the neighbours.
you are entitled by law to cut them down but you must speak to yor neighbour to see if they either want them back or you can dispose of them
you are within ur rights to cut the bush back to the boundary fence line but throwing them back into ur neighbours garden is a no no... not unless you want some neighbourly war on ur hands.

by all means cut the offending bush/branches etc back, but no more than to ur adjoining fence line, then YOU have to dispose of the cut off's yourself. throwing the cut off's back would actually be classed as fly tipping or dumping even if the bush your trimming belongs to the neighbour! and you would end up with the old bill on the door step or the council on your back not to mention the angry neighbour.

id advise that if the tree/shrub etc is a problem, talk to your neighbour and see if you can agree to mutually cut it back or maybe remove it.
the law states that you should throw them back over as it is the property of the person who owns the tree.
If you are in the Uk then you can cut them but you must technically ask your neighbor if he wants the cuttings back.
I would tell the neighbor first though what I am going to do.
You are entitled to cut down any overhanging branches etc but you cannot cross their boundary to do so which apparently includes leaning ladders on tree trunks. When you have cut off the branches etc then you should ask your neighbour if he wants it - if he doesnt then you are responsible for disposing of it yourself.
Legally you can cut them down if they encroach your garden in any way, but you must give them back to your neighbour as ultimately they are your neighbours property.

This may be a bit childish, but depending on your neighbour depends if you deposit them back in their garden or get rid of them yourself.

Our neighbours garden is so over grown they don't notice us throwing their tree bits back in - not that I really care, for a young couple they are really quite weird.
Dispose of them yourself. Is it that big a deal? After all, you are benefitting from having the hedge there too. Just stick them into the base of the plant by the roots and they will disintergrate. It is part of the pruning process and whatever grows on your side is yours. In otherwords, if it bore fruit and the fruit hung in your yard it would be your property.
Pruning is OK. Killing is not.
just cut them back & put them in your own brown weelie bin, why give yourself the hassle of confrontation with your neighbours over a few twigs !
cut them only the side's not the tops .u have 2 dispose of them your self {in uk } sorry lol ps .have had some experience with this.
We really do get the self professed experts spouting forth on issues like this dont we? I wish people would not make it up as they go along - questioners deserve a qualified answer, not bull!

In normal circumstances, any part of the tree (or plant) that overhangs your property, can be cut back by you. You are required by law to offer the prunings to your neighbour which they can accept or decline. However, if it is a tree and that tree is the subject of a Tree Preservation Order, then you would be guilty of an offence if you cut it back without the consent of the Council. Please check before you take matters into your own hands.
yes ucan cut them and throw them back, ihad the same problem, but not anymore.
every right to cut down and chuck back over fence,
