Is there anyway to get the water in a vinyl pool warm?

Question:We bought one of those vinyl pools that you just fill with water for our kids. It is 13 by 32 inches deep. We have had it up several weeks and the water is freezing still. It gets a moderate amount of sun.

Answers:
As you know the color black is a very good conductor of heat and does absorb heat tremendously. I would suggest that you purchase a sheet of 6 mil black plastic and cover the pool, I'm sure that you will find a difference. Happy wading.

Cover it with a black tarp when the sun is out.
Put a cover over it to trap the heat from the sun. Unless you buy a heater just for pools.
I have one too and it needs to be in the sun to get it warm. I have actually had several pools and the one I have now came with a see thru blue cover. The other ones were all gray (not see thru) This one is the best. It was warm in 3 days time, however it needs to be in full sun to get warm.
The water is freezing? You mean actually turning to ice, or just cold?

You might look for a couple hundred feet of black garden hose and a small sump pump. Lay the garden hose out in the sun and pump water from the pool through the hose back to the pool.

Longer hose + more sunlight = more heat.
