Is the water from the refrigerator dispenser cleaner than tap water? Or is it the same?
Question:
Answers:
You water dispenser in the refrigerator should have a filter that needs to be replaced about once a year. Most of them are in the kickplate at the very bottom of the fridge (near the floor). It may look like a big dial, and you just turn it and it comes out. So, the water should be better than tap water, but if you don't change the filter, then you're pretty much drinking tap water.
Frequently there is a filter in fridges, but you'd have to look behind the front panels of yours or read the owner's manual to know for sure.
The water comes from the same feed line so it is the same with out filters
Absolutely not the same as tap water. Unless you have a filter in good condition on the water intake line. Most water in the refrigerator becomes stagnate from lack of use and microbes start to grow.

There is a filter that is supposed to filter out salts and other material from the water in the refrigerator. BUT if the filter has not been changed when it is supposed to be changed, then the filter will no longer work and the water is the same, only cooler.
Since the source of the water from the refrigerator dispenser comes from tap water, it should be of the same quality, assuming you chnage the filters appropriately and rinse the dispenser regularly.
It's supposed to be the same, but gets me to wondering too! My sister and Mom went to the market one day, to get some ,"Fresh,Clear, Filtered Drinking Water". My sister noticed a pipe running from the store to the machine. She freaked out ,and ran into the store to demand an answer. The store Manager explained to her that yes,it was indeed the stores water, but ran into the machine where it was filtered . "I'm not drinking any of that Boy's Market Water! My sister replied in disgust. I think of her saying that every time I get ice from the refrigerator. I won't drink the water out of it, because of that and it's only been twenty-five years.
If it's filtered. If you don't HAVE a filter on it you better get on on the line before your ice storage chest turn BLACK with frozen soot.
It is the same water unless your fridge has a built in water filter. Otherwise its the same water.
