How to get rid of lily pads?

Question:I need a cheap affective way to get rid of these things.

I wish we had a few on our pond. We'll trade. I'll give you my cattails! You should check with the Dept. of Natural Resources for your state. Maybe they can help. They sell lilly pads here in Ohio.

Are they in a backyard pond? Pull them out, making sure you get the entire plant, all the way to the root.
