Is it a good idea to replace rotten fascia boards in FLA with some other material more bug and waterproof?

Question:I'm thinking of buying those 4x8 cementboard panels that are like waterproof plasterboard, then cut them to size and replace all this wood that gets damaged easily.

Answers:
NO! use pressure treated wood, primer and paint. i live in key west and do this for a living. homeremodeler00@yahoo.com

I really like Hardi Plank products. You can buy soffit material in 12, 16, 24, 32, and 48 in widths, twelve feet long. A perforated soffit is available. For the fascia boards use Hardi trim boards.

This is a great product once installed, but can be difficult to deal with. It is brittle, and requires care full handling. You will need a diamond blade to cut it, and the dust is something else. Invest in a good dust mask.
