How do I use limestone to control blossom end rot in watermelon?

Question:my watermelon field has 98% blossom end rot.

Answers:
Limestone will make the soil alkaline, watermellon plants prefer acidic soils as do most plants. Adding limestone therefore is a bad idea. switch to compost as a fertilizer instead of a chemical as well this will moderate your soil.
