Will running a fan in a small studio apt. save me a lot more money than air conditioning?

Question:How much money will I save if I have a fan on all day long as opposed to air conditioning in a small studio apt?

Answers:
An AC will use much more energy than a fan. The fan only has a motor to spin the blade - an AC has a much larger fan motor and also the compressor to run which is what uses most of the energy. The compressor in an AC can run 70-80% of the time and draw 8-9 amps of current equating to about 1000-1100 watts of power. You could run 8 fans for the same energy that one AC will use.

well i used to live in a small trailer and we ran the window unit 24-7 and our bill was like between 60-75 a month
The question is how cool do you want to be. Remember a fan only circulates the air in room and if it's hot air then you will still be hot. It shouldn't be a lot to use ac. Use it for a month and check your bill. If too much go to fan!! Stay cool!
A bundle!! I have 3 box fans and one computer (Though I unplug everything when I'm not at home, save the fans) And my bill this month was $6.89. I kid you not. The most it's ever been in the summer is $15.
