How do i get a honey out of a bee hive?
Question:there is a natural honey bee hive in my back yard and i was wondering is it possible to get honey out of it. It is not one of thoses hives in a crate but the bees built it on their own.
Answers:
You need the proper attire, e.g. gloves with leather sleeves, hat with veil the goes all around and covers the neck too, heavy long sleeve shirt with tee shirt under, long jeans, socks with rubber bands around the cuffs so bees can't get up the legs. When attired, reach in a grab it, don't take it all, it's their food for tough times ahead. Smoke calms them so if you introduce some while working it will make their life and yours a little easier.
You stick your hand in there and break off a piece of the honeycomb - it's filled with honey.
Of course, you can get stung, so you may want to take some precautions.
Yes there is a way to get honey out of the bes. First you should put somethin over your had like a screen so you wont get a sting from the bees. Get a jar and a spoon and go get you honey.
close your eyes, stick you hand in, and pray
I am not trained professionally but don't you have to wear the outfit things... call a local bee farm and ask about extracting honey
carefully...
Lauren, Simple answer.don`t do it by yourself it could be fatal. Find an experienced beekeeper to help you. Call your local fire department, police department, pest control companies, agricultural extention agent or university entemology department and ask if they can help you locate a beekeeper. If you attempt to do it by yourself you will get stung and potentially others. Be safe.
Throw a rock at it from as far back as you can (make sure it will break it open), then run like crazy. Wait for the bees to clear out a bit and go get it.
Or... you can get it from the store for like $0.99. And a side note... all honey is natural, it only comes from natural bees.
