Does it hurt to put dehydrated lime in your garden between your plant rows?

Question:the garden is already growing about a foot high.

If you mix it with ashes and water and put it on the plants themselves it helps to get rid of Striped and Spotted Cucumber Beetles. Otherwise it isn't a problem. You can google organic gardening and probably get more info. That is all I know of off the top of my head.
