Answers:
I have had to get rid of small wasp nests. I have a phobia of wasps, so it was really hard emotionally to deal with. This is what I did. I waited until night to be sure all the wasps had returned to the nest. Then I used a can of Raid Wasp and Hornet spray. It sprays far so that I don't have to be up by the nest. I saturated the nest with the spray and then ran back into the house. The next day, I watched the nest to see if any wasps returned. When they didn't, I knocked down the nest with a broom handle. By the way, be sure you know where the nest is so that you don't have to use a flashlight to find it. If you use a flashlight, those wasps can come right for you.
kersone on them
Get one of those 'wasp bottles', fill it with fruit juice and watch them drown...
My uncle works in pest control and said that an "inexperienced" person should never try to take care of this problem themself. You, or someone else could get stung and if allergic, or to many attack you could die. Where I am from-Minnesota- a medium nest removal would be approx 65.00. Most sites on the internet tell you tha same.
well you can get water and dish liquid or laundry detergent it will work better and if you have some thing that can shot the water to the bees like a toy water gun. it is better not too be close we you shot the soapy water that will kill them almost instantly. (just make sure you mix the liquids well) or the detergent will clog your water gun. it will also work with ants.
Wait until dusk when all the wasps come back to the nest for the night. Carefully aim a can of hair spray at the nest from about 1 and a half to two feet away. No further. The closer the better within reason. Light a cigarette lighter in the path the hair spray will take when you start spraying. With the lighter lit and the hair spray aimed at the nest, start spraying.
The hair spray will ignite like a flame thrower so you should practice this before you take on the wasps. It goes without saying that you don't do this any place that could easily catch on fire or ignite gasoline or other flammables. Use your head before employing.
Done carefully and at the right time of day and it's guaranteed to get every wasp on the barbecued nest. Then, knock the nest down and step on it to crush the unhatched wasps inside.
One more thing, as Columbo would say. Don't do this barefooted since many of the wasps will still be alive on the ground with their wings burned off. And, they'll be pretty mad.
Generally insect activity is slower at night. This might be the best time to deploy your warfare. And don't use flammable materials- I don't want to see you on Funniest Videos
I remember I used to have one right above the front door. Me and my sister really wanted to get it down so we just grabbed anything we could. She had a swiffer in her hand lol and I was throwing shoes at it and running away and we would come back and run and so on so on, and it finally fell. Then we started to spray it with raid and kicked it far.
