Do you have to leave the air conditioner outside?
Question:my parents are too lazy to install the ac for me in the window
so i just carried the heavy thing into my room.. but my mom said that you have to leave it outside or something becuase it needs to suck some air in idontknow!

Yes the back of the ac must be outside to exaust the hot air out of the house

half of it stays outside the window.
It pulls in the air from the outside, filters it, and blows it into your room. I don't think it would be very effective if not in the window. Good luck.
haha, of course you need to leave it outside, shes right...and it releases water ...and if it was indoors the water would get all over the floor.
It simply wont wok inside. For one, it blows hot air out the back, so right there you're not gaining any. And two, it de-humidifies, so it will drip and drip and drip. You would need a bucket under the back of it.
That's why "portable" AC units cost so much.
Buy a fan, put a block of ice in front of it, put down some towels to pick up the water, and point it anywhere in your room! Replace the ice and towels as needed.
Yes,it should be in a window. It draws fresh air in from the outside into the room.
