Why do the walls between toilet stalls have a gap?
Question:I can understand having a gap under the door, so you can see if the stall is occupied, but why is one necessary between the stalls? Do we really need to be able to see what shoes our neighbor is wearing or how many streaks his underwear has?
Answers:
The short answer is so peepers can put a little piece of mirror lodged in the cut out of their penny loafers and check out the person next to them. Otherwise it is to assist in moping the floor.
It's for the old standby "can you pass me some toilet paper"?
Happens way more than it should but companies etc., just don't have time to constantly check supplies in the washrooms. Everyone I know has had to ask someone to pass them paper many times.including myself.
Sanitary reasons. Better airflow (it is a toilet after all) and makes it easier to mop the floor.
