How do I get rid of fruit flies??
Question:We live in an apartment complex, this summer and last we've had terrible fruit flies inside. We are very clean people and do not leave fruit laying around. We do, however, go outside on our patio to smoke... so they could be coming in from outside. But, once they are inside... how do I kill them? They are literally driving me crazy! Ive heard of a funnel trick with vinegar... but how does that work? Or how do I do it? If I just put a funnel inside of a jar without anything on top, cant they just fly out? Or if not that, how else could I go about getting rid of them? Please help. Thank you.

Is it possible to put up fly screens? The funnel trick is to put honey or fruit in a jar, half fill with water. Flies go in and many drown.Can you still buy fly papers in your part of the world?As a last resort buy a natural Pyrethrum spray. You could also grow some pyrethrum daisies inside.Failing all these things you can buy an inside fly repellent which sprays out fly spray at intervals. The one I have is Air-Guard, made by Shoof in Canada. Good Luck!
Wow here`s more fruit fly info I`d ever want...but seriously I think there is a homemade trap in here that they claim works.
I always clip the wings of the apples and bananas as soon as I get home from the store. Sure some times the FRUIT_WALKS_AWAY, but rarely does my FRUIT_FLY!
leave an un peeled onion on your window sill or where ever your little freinds are,,, and it will keep them away. the onion wont smell . but it will repel them,, along with other insecs.
