Can you paint with Porch paint new pre-treated wood?

Question:If so I would assume you have to put a primer on first is this correct? Is there another product for painting or staining this type of wood and what is the best?

Answers:
as long as your pressure treated porch has had it's dry out time you can paint it and or stain. If you paint then use a primer. You are better off to use an oil base paint for durability.

The pressure treated lumber is suppose to be o.k. as is for about 5 years.then you can put a water repelant sealer on it.I have had mine for 15 years and treated it withThompson water sill 3 times.
Wait 6 months and stain with a light oak finish or use Thomson's Water Seal. Do not paint, it is treated for a reason.
