Communications - Need help !?

Question:Need advice please -
I just had my neighbour across the street come over and tell me my baby-monitor is interfering with is ‘airspace’ as he does something with radio(s)….. tells me I am using an illegal channel! Demanded to see the monitor and said he is reporting me to some communications govt dept.
Is this true? – can he do this? Its only a baby monitor.

Answers:
nope you dont need to worry at all see there is a little tag on every radio and every wireless device that says this device may cause harmful interference. and even says usually that it may be affected by harmful interference. it is a little strange that he is picking up your signal and not the other way around. usually you moniter should pick up his radio. baby monitors usually have 2 channels a and b try changing them both to the other channel that may fix the problem if it don he is out of luck. the fcc is not gonna care about his complaints about a baby monitor.

He is a ham radio operator. Those baby monitors are notorious for interfering with radio signals. I don't know about Australia and NZ, but the US government and police have a lot more to do than deal with that complaint. I would be more worried about HIM.
No worries. He can get filters for his radio if he needs them. Funny you should mention this though. A woman here in the States was picking up NASA broadcasts from space on this last shuttle launch, on her baby monitor.
