Hi
As the last gentleman indicated you need to be a little more specific as there are literally hundreds of different connectors (couplings) for hose.
I will guess that you have a Garden Hose and that what you are describing is one half of a set of Quick Disconnect couplings for Garden Hose, since it is the only Garden Hose coupling I am familiar with that uses TWO Gaskets.
The FEMALE (Coupler) portion of one of the common Garden Hose Quick Disconnect fittings has a standard flat Garden Hose Gasket in the Female Garden Hose Threaded (GHT) end and a special basically flat gasket in the Female Quick Disconect end.
This second gasket seats with the end of the MALE (Adapter) portion of one of the common Garden Hose Quick Disconnect fittings. This design has NO SEALS on the MALE (Adapter) portion.
The outer "Sleeve" on the FEMALE (Coupler) is retracted to allow the MALE (Adapter) to be inserted or removed. This fitting is available in Brass
The other common Garden Hose Quick Disconnect fittings has an O-ring Seal on the outside of the MALE (Adapter) and seals on the inner SIDE surface of its mating FEMALE (Coupler). This fitting is most often Plastic but is also available in Brass.
The Brass unit I believe you might be describing, is sold with Female GHT on the FEMALE (Coupler), this would be mounted on your hose spigot, and Male GHT on the MALE (Adapter), which would be mounted on your Hose.
If that did not help, as the first gentleman suggested, get a little more secific about what type of fitting, and to exactly what your question relates.
Good Luck
