Am I the only one in the UK with 6" slugs and giant snails in their garden?

No, they seem to have got a lot bigger in my garden too. There are loads of them out there, and the slugs keep trying to get into the house!! Even worse, ran out to the shed last night, and stepped on a huge slug - I had no shoes on! still shuddering at the thought. My son collects the snails (at a price) and dumps them down the park for me and sea salt is working well on the slugs.
That's Global Warming for you.
I cant measure mine they are swimming too fast but they just ate my hamster when he fell of his jet ski

Apparently there are over 200 slugs in a square metre of soil !
What the hell predates on slugs ? i hear frogs/toads love em . Get a pond in your garden ,and the frogs will feast .
This is going to be one of the biggest best years for these little guys (obviously! ). Ihave found some absolutely enormous slimy things in my garden. I'm not organic cos I'm a gardener by trade and its just not practical. Therefore I use slug pellets, and yes they have to have metaldehyde in them. As far as I'm concerned, its the only real way to control them. But I have to admit, I'll still pick up snails and throw them over the wall to the wasteland next door, just to give them a fighting chance!
Rockman is right, frogs are great, but although I have a pond, there's too many fish in it to support a frog so I can only use chemical methods (being VERY careful to not get said chemicals in the pond in any way!)
You need to summon a hedgehog. No gastropod is safe from Mr Tiggywinkle. Whilst salt can be satisfying it will kill you plants, so pop out and get some pellets instead, they are very cheap.

LMAO pups you're really having trouble with are trail leaving friends aren't you , i would get a bird table to attract some feathered help , so you don't have to pick the little blighters up to throw them ,lol @ you hiding from your neighbour that's v funny haha :o) xxxx
