How do people who live far from powerlines get power in their homes?
Question:
Answers:
Many times, if you don't see a powerline, it is running underground. If you live WAY out, you may have to use a generator, find alternate sources of power (using coal to heat the house, windmills, solar, etc...) or just do without. Remember, their are many nations that do not have the infrastructure that North America and Europe have built.
magic.......
Either power is generated on site, by a Diesel or other fueled generator, windmill, or photovoltaic system, or a pole line gets run from the nearest point on an existing line to the house. This can be expensive.

Here in MI a friend of mine is building a home in a remote location. It is costing him $25000+ to get overhead lines to the house. Under ground is much higher. Some rural cabins have generators.
