Bug bites! Help!!?

Question:I recently moved to a townhouse on campus, and I have been getting bug bites on my legs, and they itch SO BAD! My housemate is having the same problem! We only started getting these bites ever since we moved in. When I complained to facilities mgmt, they asked me what specific bugs, but I don't know what those bugs are! There are so many different types, and it's grossing me out. What do I do about the bites and this problem? It's driving me crazy! I have to scratch my legs every 5 minutes!

Answers:
I recently had a problem with bedbugs. I had terrible, little, itching sores on my ankles when I got out of bed in the morning. I tried several things, but nothing worked. Finally, I sprayed my mattress, blankets, carpet, bed frame, and room with ant killer insectide (kills spiders, etc...). That fixed the problems. Bed bugs live in the seams of the mattress and in crevices in the bed frame and baseboard. I sprayed early one morning and put a small fan in the window. It smelled terrible for a few hours, but that night my mattress and blankets smelled fine. For the itching, I bought some Gold Bond medicated powder.

If the problem is throughout the house, go to the Home Depot and buy the gallon size of Ortho Max Bug B Gone. I am not sure of the name, but it's the only one that's a gallon size. It costs about $12. It has a small tube and spray nozzle. You spray like a professional. You may have to spray a couple of times, but the stuff works really great.

You probably have fleas living in your townhouse. The landlord should be responsible for having an exterminator come in.
It's either fleas or mosquitoes.
Could be Fleas from the people before you. Get a flea bomb and bomb your apt.
CAtch the critters and bring them to mgmt!or bring a few with you and let them loose in THEIR space!
good luck
Bathe legs with diluted vinegar, it will stop itching. As far as bugs go, the only thing you can do is use an internal insecticide, or swab out hard surfaces with household bleach. It is possible to buy a "Bomb" which you light in a bowl of water, and vacate rooms. It sends a vapour through the rooms which kill the bugs. But your authorities should be responsible for doing this.
to start with go to a pharmacy and get some antihistermine cream for your bites then maybe check with the neighbours and see if they are having the same problem, alternately did the previous tenant have a pet that may have left livestock to welcome you
Ive been told buy amber romance by vitoria's secret the body spray has something in it that repels mosquitos and bugs. And ud smell great!
There are so many things it could be! From fleas to spiders to bedbugs, etc! Explain to management that they need to bring in an exterminator. This probably isn't limited to just you and your roommate; if the bugs are in your apt, they'll make it next door too. Maybe ask your townhouse neighbors if they're experiencing the same thing.

Don't take no for an answer. (but, be prepared: management might be well aware of problem and not want to incur the expense of correcting it). In the meantime try some over the counter things??

Take this lesson with you after you graduate. If an apartment sounds too good, be sure to check for problems. (i.e. bad neighborhood that you don't notice during day, bugs (cockroaches), water pressure problems, noise, etc.).

You'll do fine... just learn as you go :)
Your townhouse may have to be fumigated. Can you actually see the bugs or are you just suffering from the bites without knowing what actually bit you? In the meantime, (don't laugh!) try hemorrhoid cream. The ingredients calm itching and reduce swelling. My kid's doctor recommended this years ago for chicken pox and it worked. We now use it for mosquito and other critter bites. Benadryl tablets work as an antihistamine from the inside out; however, they can make you sleepy so use only at bedtime.
THEY ARE FLEAS..PUT OUT A SHALLOW BOWL OR PLATE WITH DISH SOAP WATER IN IT, THEY WILL COME TO IT , THEN YOU WILL KNOW FOR SURE
sounds like you moved into a flea-infested apartment. the previous tenant had a dog that had fleas. fleas will hide in carpeting, furniture, clothing, etc. the management needs to fumigate the place
The best thing to do is tell them to call the pest control to fog your apartment...if they will not call them yourself and send them the bill. After you get the place fumigated, make sure that you try to keep the place clean..don't leave food lying around and keep Spectracide sprayed in your townhouse is applied correctly and about once a month..you can spray this stuff yourself and you can buy it at WalMart...
