How long does it take...?

Question:to have an in ground concrete pool built?

Answers:
well i service pools as a job.. so i do have some expirience with it..

the main problem with telling how long a pool is going to take to be built is the fact that a lot of pool builders these days like to take advantage of you and put your business off after you give them the down payment.

a tip: if they do ask for a down payment, say you got a quote from one of their competitors and say that they don't accept payment until after the re-bar is put in..

it will scare them into not fcking with you.

as for how long it will take..

a week minimum for the hole to be dug. but i have seen it done in less..(smaller pools)

2-3 days for the rebar to be placed

1-2 days for the concrete to be poured

a week for the plumbing

3-4 for electrical features

1-2 days for different features. (tiles, fountains, slides, etc)

1-2 days for the installation of filter and pump.

and then another couple weeks for the water to be balanced and the pool to be cleaned..

keep in mind that whether or not the builders decide to do it quickly is unsure to anybody. they do have other jobs that need to be done and they may take advantage of you.

also keep in mind that pool builders also do alot of sub-contracting. which means that you will have to also have to fit into the schedule of the other companies they are working with.

the above figures are the absolute best that can happen. but i am willing to guarantee that the builders are going to slack off.

thats just the way they work these days

do not get fiberglass, as was said above..
it is harder is maintain and costs more when it breaks..
with concrete all you need to do is patch up that area..
with fiberglass you may need to get a whole neew pool..

and with fiberglass, it is premolded. which means, for transporting purposes, it has to be a certain size..

5feet deep
12feet long
7 feet wide..

or something like that..

cuple days...idk why dont you talk to a contractor??
Depends on the size, and the people you hire. It can last anywhere from about a month, to a few months. But it really depends on the crew you hire, and how many actual working days they have. Weather can affect how long it takes as well. Ususally concrete will take longer then fiberglass, as they need to pour it, let it dry, then it still has to cure. Fiberglass comes pre-molded so they just need to dig a hole and fill it up. I would probably recommend fiberglass, concrete might be stronger and might last longer, but it can also cost more and depending on the quality of the job, and the movement of the ground, it can cause cracks.
Depends on the contractor/company & how busy they are. If you have the pool installed early spring early summer they are more than likely swamped and it could take up to 4-6 months to complete. I would think the earliest is 30-45 days in the best of situations. Where you live & the weather etc will also play a big deal in the time. In addition if you are having a simple base plan model pool installed compared to extra dimensions and curves put in then the time will be less. Fencing requirements Codes/permits and power connections/electricians, whether you want a retaining wall to block the view of filters & pumps, Etc will all come into play as well. I would plan on a good solid 90 days from start to completion and that should be a good plan. Make sure you don’t go skimpy on the filter system.really get what you pay for when it comes to that part of the system, do your research on the systems they offer and you will be happy you did.Good Luck have fun!
