How do you care for a rubber plant?
Question:
Answers:
These are very easy to care for. I have had one for 5 years that I got from my Mother-in-law and she had it for about 6 years! When I got it from her- It was big enough to transplant and separate to the point of 3 more plants. They do pretty well anywhere- but I find that mine grows like crazy in a room that get allot of indirect sunlight. I water mine about once a week and yes you have to dust the leaves every so often. You can even put some 'endust' ON A RAG then wipe them. Some one once told me wipe the leaves with milk- and all I saw as a result was a mess doing it! lol. I also put my smaller ones out on the patio in the spring until fall. And twice a year I take a small rake tool and break up the dirt, fertilize and add some new potting soil as I do with all my plants. The smaller ones I will occasionally just put in the shower for a few minutes to get a good drenching and cleans the leaves. Other than that they are a pretty care free plant! Enjoy for years! :-)
Dust it when needed
Schulz makes a spray to clean hard leaves. Use that, it leaves them very shiny.
And care as any other tropical plant
