Does anyone know what percentage of your annual household income is acceptable for fuel costs??

Question:I read somewhere that if you spend more than 10% of your annual income on heating and lighting, its unacceptable, and you may be entitled to any grants to help reduce this, can anyone shed some light on this matter??

Answers:
30% including auto fuel

I would hazzard a guess and say 10% less than you can comfortably afford.
As for grants... hey if you have more than £8000 in a bank account.forget it!
you are told grant for this and that ..try and get one and if you have money in investments then dont bother
Most energy companies have information regarding this sort of thing if you look at their websites. Sometimes this information is sent on the leaflets they include in your bill. Other than that, I would look on any social service offerings on the website of your local government (city or county). Good luck.
