What to do with sprouts in my vermicomposting bin?

Question:My worms love all types of melons and pineapple especially. Many of the cantaloupe seeds have sprouted. Is there anything I can do with these? If so, how do I go about transferring them to a garden and how long do I leave them in the vermicompost bin prior to that?

Answers:
I'd just give the bin a good stir. Without sunlight, those sprouts aren't growing

you could just take a clump of the compost that the seeds are growing in and dig a small hole and set that on top. Or try pulling the sprouts out individually. It is hard to have good luck with moving plants like that but if you got a lot of seeds you should get at least a few plants to survive the move.
