Are silk trees (willows, fig, etc.) in the home still fashionable?

I don't really know if they are still fashionable or not but I do have one in my bedroom and I love it..
I prefer real plants tho, but didn't have the light in there to have them..
I guess it depends how you feel about it..
Fashion or not I would do what suits me.. not anyone else!
