I think my bonsai tree has died.?

Question:The leaves have all dried up and are gradually all falling off. I've bought some special bonsai food for it but it is not perking up!! Am i supposed to strip off the dead leaves for it to start again, or what do i do!!?? It's been like this for some time now and i have tried repotting it, but don't know what else to do!?
