?how can i reflect or keep the heat that is coming in my apartment windows?

Question:i need help staying cool the rates just went up 50 % and i need to keep the air off as much as possible any suggestions

Answers:
There are some excellent window films you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes that reflect 90%+ of the heat producing rays but let plenty of visible light in. They're kind of expensive buy may be worth the money. They also work well for keeping the heat in in the winter! I think Gila is the brand name.

White window blinds work well to.

Good Luck!

use aluminum foil, but caution neighbors & passerbyers to wear sun glasses.
The trick is to keep the sunlight from passing to the inside of the window. If you can do that somehow, great!

This is what I have done before.
I cut 1 inch solid foam panels to fit exactly the size of the window pane. I screwed eye hooks into the window panes frame and then used a bungee cord to hold a panel in place. The glass got hot but never cracked. My window panes were the same size on top frame and the bottom frame so that I could take and double up the panels slow to open one window pane to sunlight
