What is the legal time in evening you can have a bonfire?

Question:

Answers:
A. It depends on your city/state ordinance;

B. I don't know where you live, but considering the drought conditions over much of the U.S. right now, it may not be legal at any time, day or night;

C. It depends on your definition of a bonfire. What measures are taken to control it to make sure the fire doesn't spread?

D. You may want to call your local fire department and check with them. They are probably best qualified to answer based on your location; i.e., city/state.

I phoned my council about this and it is illegal at any time, depends on your council rules.
You will need to check with local council as to what you can do and at what time.
Check with your local city offices: some places you may be required to get a permit from your local DNR offices. They would be able to tell you if you have local ordinances that have time limits.
In your own back yard it's allowed at any time, but your neighbors may not appreciate it.
Be careful, as in America there have been fires started that have got out of control and the fire brigade have had to be called.
Dangle a bit of meat over it for a few seconds and everyone will think you're having a barbecue.
You cant hear in Ireland it illegal even to burn your rubbish . unless you but it in the open fire.
after 7pm
I don't think there's any time limits for bonfires. At least not in my communiity. We do have ordinances about having fires when the fire danger is high and especially when it's very windy.
When we have one, I also keep the garden hose very close, just in case.
i've been told it's after 6pm. go to your local DIY store and get one of those metal dustbin thingy's that have holes in and a chimney on top, i think they are about a tenner and the keep the fire enclosed, so you can keep control of it by adding a bit at a time. keep a hosepipe on stand by and keep well away from fencing, trees and shrubs. Also be polite and let your neighbours know so if they have any washing out they can get it in!! I did this and lit a barbie and got the neighbours round and kept everyone happy!!
7PM.
Ordinarily it's 7pm, but this varies from region to region and council or local authority. Best to check first... or just have one on private ground, out of the way somewhere :)
(Toast a marshmellow for me :P)
