Can you eat onion leaves.?

Question:I have just started growing my own veg and have some red baron onions from sets. The stalks taste like chives and wondered if you can eat them?

Also, they are starting to bolt. Can I stop them by removing the seed heads/

Finally, I was told that rhubarb leaves were poisonous. Is this true as I have never heard of it before.

Thanks for any help.

yes, yes and most definitely YES
yes its good for yr fangs..(teeth)...
duuuh , everyone its them dont u know that .. so .. yes it can be eaten ..
Yes you can eat the stems, but it will stunt the growth of the bulb. It is like a spring onion if you think about it.
Bend them over as they must be nearly read for harvesting.

Yes Rhubarb leaves are poisonous and if they don't kill you they will make you very ill.

PS. If you boil rhubarb leaves and strain, the liquid makes a good bug spray for your veges and flowers.
Don't spray anything you are likely to harvest for the next few days, and rinse thoroughly.
With spring onions , also called scallions, you do eat the leaves. Other onion leaves are edible but might not be so digestible.
