Is your home's appearance a reflection of your PERSONALITY?
Question:
Answers:
Not yet.my home's appearance is a reflection of my father's unwillingness to spend a dime on it for the last 30 years of his life.
I am slowly changing that one room at a time.
But I AM so sick of looking at the peeling paint on the outside that within a month or so, I am going to be either putting up vinyl siding over the old wood siding, and repainting all the trim, OR just repainting everything if the siding proves to be too expensive.
And I really have to rebuild the side stairs going up to the second floor. Right now they are a hazard with the balustrade coming apart wherever you lean on it. (Although the risers are solid themselves.)
not at all- I rent and have to keep the sunny yellow walls the way they are..which discourages me from decorating.I'm soon getting a house and cant wait to actually design a room
Absolutely!
eh, some people think that.
I believe your home is a reflection of the condition of your life. If your life is a mess your home will be also. I know people who clean other peoples homes for a living, and her customers lover her. Her own home however, is a wreck. When your life is disorganized, your home will reflect that. You may neglect your yard, paint jobs, etc. Think about some of the filthiest, or disorganized, or gloomy homes you've been in? What personally are they going through?
not as this momment but when i own a home do, Yes it will and it should.
I think so. I think it can also show how your life changes from year to year. Older folk who cannot take care of their yard will often make changes to make yard care more simple and easy for them to care for. Young couples with their first home will have many styles and will try many new things until they decide just what their "style" is. My style is eclectic.
I also think that if your home looks neat on the outside then it will reflect that on the inside too.
Pretty much so I think. We have a lived in house that we make comfortable for company and kids..except we have to board the inside dog if kids come. I don't like people coming and feeling like they can't sit down and relax in a house and like they have landed in some museum. It has warm colors, soft lighting, accent colors, candles (if not allergic...I ask), a fridge that I tell them is theirs to feel free to search in.
I work 9 or 10 hrs most days but while it may not be clorox spotless I keep it clean and picked up. But I do tell them IF you find something not to your liking your welcome to fix, clean or repair all you want its ok with me.
