Can I water my plant whilst I'm away ?

Question:I'm going on holiday for 3 weeks this summer. I have a lavendar plant which must be watered every 2 days.
Is there a technique which I can use in order to water my plant whilst I'm out of the country?

Answers:
this will work for a few plants together but not for many. sit your plants on the kitchen drainer by the sink. fill your sink with water. use a towel or dish cloth you dont mind sacraficing. put one end of the towel in the water and sit the plants on the towel.
Make sure the fabric is thick enough that the soil of the plant is touching the fabric. if the pot for the plant doesnt have holes in the bottom push the cloth into the top of the plant around the edge of the pot.
the towel will act as a wick for the water giving your plants the water they need. pretty much fill the sink if your gonna be away for 3 weeks.
If its a really big plant, use the bath instead of the sink.

A very long hosepipe.
bribe your neighbour to do it with the promise of free duty free if they do
The only solutions I can think of like water releasing gel etc wont work for as long as three weeks - cant you ask someone to plant-sit it for you?
get an empty large pop bottle and attach a coned shaped nozzle, which you can get from garden centre and then turn bottle upside down full of water though and it will water your plant while you are away.
they have little timers that you can hook up to any hose bib, not very expensive too. check with your local hardware store
Leave them in the garden :-)
Set the plants in a shallow tub with water in it, as long as the pot has drain holes at the bottom the plant will drink from this.
Could you not just take the plant to someones house and ask them to look after it. (assuming its a house plant) if not then it will probably be ok anyway. I think there is a method where you leave a bowl of water next to it with something going between the two could be cotton wool strip, I think and the plant absorbs what it needs
Ask your neighbours cat to do you a favour.
