Where can I dispose of my old vacuum cleaner?

Question:It just crapped out on me for the last time. I want to finally get rid of it and buy a new one.

Answers:
Salvation Army or Goodwill. They will usually accept anything, even if it needs repair work as they will repair and sell the item. It all goes for a good cause.

Depending on where you live, back your car out close to the street, near dark, run an extension cord out to the vacuum like it's being used, and then go inside and have a beer or two, if it's anything like around here, someone will steal it fast. Problem solved.
Try the local dump. If you are in the city they do have special days that they pick up the big stuff...call and find out when that day is.
Put it out by the curb someone will pick it up surele thinking they were getting something for nothing or maybe a quick steal! ha
Set it out on the curb on trash day.
I'd be curious as to why it crapped out on you. Some people forget to remove the bag and clean the parts after they use the sweeper. Not cleaning it will make it work harder and eventually wear out the motor. Why not take it to a dealer who repairs them and ask what the problem is and if they can't fix it if they can give you a discount on your next one if you buy it there (and then you give them your old one).
I set out all my discards on the curb separate from the trash the day before trash pickup. By early evening, they're all gone.
Wait ! if you buy a new one anyway take it to the store and ask for a trade in value .At least they will take it off you .
Strip it down and put it in your dustbin .
