Do maple trees have aroma to them?
Question:Last week I went to Danville county in Kentucky & the minute we entered the county I smelled the most beautiful smell in the world! it was like a smell from heaven & when I asked if there's something unique in their vegetation, they told me it's maple trees. is that true? have you ever noticed that maple trees have a distinctive lovely smell?
Answers:
Never really paid that much attention. I know the sap has a distinctive odour but have never been in the bush at this time of year to notice an odour during the pollination phase. Our mosquitoes and black flies show up on radar so smart people take precautions. I have noticed an odour in Kentucky and other southern states at this time but have never asked about the source as the people I deal with down there have difficulty figuring out how they got to work that day.
i have maple trees in my front yard and i havent noticed any smell from them. my guess is that if they are harvesting syrup from the trees around there maybe that would give off a scent? or maybe it was just the fresh clean outdoors!
