WHERE DO all the flies go!?
Question:was in the garden a few hours ago and there everywhere!! then about 6.30pm they've all gone, not one single fly! do they all gather somewhere and talk about the day's events!

You are correct, they all hit the local pub and talk about the days events. That's where the term 'bar fly' came from.
actually they go to warm places. your garden was warm till about 6:30 than they moved to a different warm spot... flys love heat
Once its starts getting cooler the flies settle down somewhere like the underside of leaves in the garden, they seem to like shrubby things and trees. they'll be tired after their long day flying around, sitting eating filth, and vomiting over anything they find remotely interesting.
