What is a fair price to offer for a 12 year old Amana fridge that was originally $1400.00??

Question:The refrigerator is my neighbor's parents' and is in excellent condition. She got a new one by default from her other son who purchased the wrong size for his new house.

Answers:
The average refrigerator life span is 8 - 14 years. New refrigerators have much better energy efficiency and CFC free systems. On top of that, the door gaskets ($200 to replace) get leaky from age and cleaning, making the refrigerator less able to hold cold, using more energy.

Let this thing go to the dump, and shop around for something newer, preferably after 2001 when new energy standards took effect.

When I replaced an older refrigerator with a new energy star model, I saved $30 a month!

It has lived most of its life. I'd say between 100 to 200.
200
I would not give more than $l50.00 for a 12 year old frig.
Too many things could go wrong with them at that age.
Just because it looks good and runs now doesn*t mean it can*t go out tomorrow.Look in your want ads under refrigerators and see what the going price is.
50 to 75 tops even in great shape, she ought to give it to you for free. I've seen 3-5 yr old fridges in new shape under 100.
$275 to $400.00 would be my guess. Depends on how bad you want it. Old refridgerators around here go for $100/150 but they didn't cost $1400.
It is 12 years old for crying out loud. Why are you so greedy? You got the damn thing for nothing. Can't you share the gesture and give it to someone that can really use it? There is no greater gift than the gift of giving. try it perhaps you will be a better person for doing so. \Peace out!
100.00 for every 30 days they will personaly warrentee it. in writting
Although it may look like it's in excellent condition, it's 12 years old. Most refrigerators don't last much longer (without spending money on repairs).

That being said, I wouldn't pay more than $100 for it.
I would not pay $5.00 for a 12 year old fridge! It is past its life span already. Buy a new fridge, the savings on your electric bill will be unbelievable!

I purchased a new fridge 4 years ago, replacing a dying 14 year old fridge. My electric bill dropped by almost 50%!

Next to centeral air, the fridge is the second highest user of electric in your home!
$100
