I can't think of any good alternatives for selling online. Neither can you. There is a reason neither of us can come up with good alternatives. There aren't any. You need to pay the Ebay fees or miss out on the action. If your item is priced accordingly, you can build in the fees, so you recover them! That's what most people do anyway. The buyers just wind up paying the fees! Good luck!
I've been looking for an alternative to larger auction sites ... so far I found a few good sites. The best one I have come across is http://www.onlineauctionexchange.com... No Listing Fees, No Commission or End-of-Auction Fees. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes. List your goods and services for a fraction of what you will pay eBay. They give you $1000 of auction credit just for signing up ... this could be a nice way to start out with a new site. Use this credit toward auctions or to open up your own online store. Nice website ... a must see.
There is a Yahoo Group called "almostfreestuffokc" that I use, http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/al... There is also one called "Welcome to Almost-Free Canadian County, Oklahoma", http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/af...
These are Oklahoma groups, but there may be another group in your area. You might want to contact the moderators of these groups for help.
