My apt. unit is infested with roaches. the unit was sprayed twice by a supposed "professional" company
Question:They are still here and I see no difference after these two sprayings. Is the apartment manager using a "cheap-o company to perform this work?
The Manager said it takes weeks for the roaches to eat the bait and then die out. I think she is lying as the first spray was over two weeks ago. What can I do as I have 2 small daughters and i know these roaches carry many deseases.

once a building has roaches, it will always have roaches. Good luck getting rid of them. I personally would move. (I'm not being smarta$s, i'm being serious,,, i'd move.)
it does take weeks. more than 2 weeks
It takes a long time, because you have to spray to kill the adults, then spray again to kill the larvae that hatched out of existing eggs, then pray that they haven't mated before THAT spraying. The best way to get rid of roaches, I've found, is to get black ants to move in (they eat the roach eggs and larvae) and then kill the ants later, cause ants are easier to get rid of.
we had roaches a few years ago and we got this product that worked really good it works by making the bugs sterile IGR
Insect Growth Regulators it does take a while to work but in the mean time you can always have fun and spray them with a orange cleaner this makes them die and will give you entertainment during the time that the product is working also you may want to ask if this is what was used so that you don't have to use the same product twice well hope it helps and that you can have fun with it
Spraying will NOT get rid of Roaches.
Only roach bait works and the gel type is the best. It comes in a tube and is put under counter lip in the corners and i under the sink around the pipes. And roaches may be coming from apt next to yours.
Also must use bait in bathroom. Put gel around pipes where flange meets wall. If this is loose put behind flange. Now thats they easy part.
Now you must discard all garbage; that means no wastebaskets with raw food inside or any food.
When you have wet garbage that won't go in disposal and you don't want to be running outside to dispose all the time, use qt or gallon ziplok baggies for this type of food, seal and put in wastbasket that has been washed in bleach water and is now lined with grocery bag.
Use 1 part bleach and 4 parts water and some laundry soap and wash down all surfaces, that may be sticky or have food on, plus floor. Be carefull of rug.
If you can do this when children are in scool fine but they must not be present in apt while you are sanitizing your apt. Wear rubber gloves when working with bleach solution. Check whole apartment , under rugs, under furniture, in furniture. pull furniture aside and check under for roaches. Spray every day the threshold of front and back entry doors. Clean bathroom and kitchen until spotless. No food particles, no spills, nothing for roaches to eat. No grease on stove or under it. Pull out stove from wall and also the fridge. Clean out fridge pan. Clean under stove top. Soak stove parts in some bleach solution in bucket overnight and rinse good before using. Clean til you can't clean any more.
When your place is spotless, but you still see roaches, then its time to complain to your landlord about your neighbors and if that fails, call the Health Department and complain about what is happening. And keep your place clean. Done on daily basis, easy to do. Always pick up fallen food, Always.
Go to Home Deport and get combat gel, it looks like peanut butter. Put in all discreet places in your Kitchen cupboards, bathrooms and under the kitchen sink. The roaches will come and eat and take the rest to their family members. Within two weeks you should not see any roaches. Continue applying that every 3 months, you will never have to pay exorbitant amounts of money. share with everybody and we will all be roach free. By the the cost is $9.50 per tube. Good luck.
The best thing that REALLY works is called BANGEL ROACH SPRAY.
My sister owned a bar in Florida and when they bought it they had a SERIOUS roach problem and they paid big bucks for professionals and still had the problem. Some one told them about this spray and after one spray she swept up a garbage can full of dead roaches just 12 hours after spraying.
Spray it around doors, windows, cabinets, cracks etc.once the roaches walk through it they lick it off thier legs and it will kill them quickly.
It lasts for up to six months. If you have a bad problem you might need to spray it every three months until you get them under control.
I used it every six months when I lived in Florida and NEVER saw another palmeto bug or roach in my house again.
